Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of dementia. Alzheimer's disease affects memory, thinking and behavior. Increasing age is the most significant factor for Alzheimer's disease and aging is an inevitable part of life. 46.8 million people worldwide were living with dementia in 2015. This number will reach 74.7 million in 2030 and over 131.5 million by 2050.
People who have Alzheimer's disease will require more care carried out by caregivers or family members as their condition progresses. Family caregivers experience stress and depression due to caregiver burden. There is a close negative relationship between this burden and their quality of life.
The aim of the project is to provide a comfortable and respectable life to people living with dementia and to improve the quality of life of their family caregivers, relatives and friends. It also aims to meet needs of caregivers’ main information needs and training about the disease and develop care skills.
